Symposium
When and where will the symposium take place?
The Symposium will be held on 22 and 23 juin 2024 at HUG
What time will the symposium start ?
The Symposium will start on Saturday at 8h30 until 17h30 and Sunday at 8h30 until 15h30
Will there be coffee breaks or lunches provided?
Coffee breaks and lunches are provided on both days.
Are on-site registrations allowed?
Only for healthcare professional
Is the symposium open to the public ?
Yes, the symposium is open to the public; however, registration fees must be paid to attend
Who will be the main speakers?
The main auditorium, with a capacity of up to 320 people, will be primarily dedicated to researchers and Healthcare professional. Meanwhile, the second auditorium, offering 120 seats, will feature presentations on topics such as daily life, aging, legal rights, career guidance, etc.
Will there be simultaneous interpreters ?
Yes, in French and English
When will it be possible to interact with researchers ?
After each presentation, a 10-15 minute question-and-answer session will be organized. You will have the opportunity to discuss with the researchers during lunch breaks and the evening cocktail dinner,
Will the presentations be recorded ?
The presentations will be available in a protected space
Will roundtables discussion organized ?
yes, roundtable discussions will be organized on career orientation, the sexuality of SWB individuals, etc.
Is it possible to receive a refund in case of cancellation ?
No refunds will be issued within 60 days of the colloquium
Are there activities planned for children and SWB individuals ?
Your children as well as all SWB individuals will be taken care of by animators, educators. An association will be present to exchange with siblings
Will there be rest areas ?
Sofas will be available for the comfort of participants
Logistic
Are there any recommended hotels near the event?
Preferred rates have been negotiated with the hotels as mentioned on the practical information page. If you choose to stay in another establishment, accommodation and transportation costs will be at your expense. Organizers will arrange room for you, and you will be informed of the exact location of your stay a few weeks before the event
What transportation options are available to get to the symposium?
Buses will be organized departing from the hotels to transport you to the Hospital and back to the hotel in the evening. However, if you are not staying at the hotels reserved by the organizers, you can use the Geneva public transportation (TPG). See above.
I want to come by train on Friday. What is the nearest train station to the hotels?
The nearest station is Saint-Julien-en-Genevois.
Are there transportation options provided from the airport and nearby train stations to the hotels?
Yes, shuttles will be organized. We ask you to provide this information in the registration form.
How can i find out where I will be staying ?
The organizers will handle the room assignments and will subsequently communicate the details such as the address and the meeting point
Is the Friday dinner included ?
No, the dinner is not included. We will recommend some restaurants.
